Sharon Collins

Sharon joined Hazelwell Lodge after spending many years caring for her family, including her disabled brother. Her varied career has also included roles as a secretary, office manager, and building society cashier. Sharon’s passion for helping others led her to pursue a fulfilling career in dementia care, where she enjoys making a positive difference every day.

In her role as an Activities Coordinator, Sharon takes pride in spending quality time with residents, whether it’s through a lively singalong, a fun baking session, or simply sharing a quiet moment of comfort and connection. She believes in creating a sense of joy and belonging for everyone.

Outside of work, Sharon enjoys crocheting, reading heartwarming stories, and exploring the countryside. She’s an animal lover, especially fond of dogs, and treasures time spent in nature.

Lewis Wells

I began my career in the NHS as a Healthcare Assistant on a stroke ward, where I developed a strong passion for supporting patients through meaningful activities. This led me to transition into activity coordination, and in March 2024, I joined Hazelwell Lodge as an Activity Coordinator. I am currently working towards my Level 2 qualification in Activities Provision to further develop my skills and enhance the experiences I offer to residents. Outside of work, I enjoy baking and spending time with my family, including my two young children, who keep me busy and bring joy to my life.

Naomi Tunstall

I began working in care after moving from Kent to Somerset in April 2024, I have a degree in Psychology and always particularly enjoyed the neuroscience modules that included learning about Dementia and other neurological conditions.

Whilst I enjoyed studying, I always wanted to be in an environment in which I could work hands on to help individuals and apply the knowledge I had learnt, which drew me to Hazelwell Lodge. Whilst working at Hazelwell Lodge I have continued to further my learning and am hoping to gain my master’s degree within the next two years.

In my spare time I enjoy arts and crafts, reading, and am currently teaching myself to play the piano. I love music and will take any opportunity to have a dance party with the residents at Hazelwell Lodge!

At Hazelwell Lodge Care Home in Ilminster we appreciate that making a decision to choose a home for a loved one is not an easy one.
